Staylbridge
The atmosphere is a loud one, both hustling and vibrant in a contemporary yet industrial feeling venue. If you want a quieter space to have breakfast with friends, this is not the place for you!
The first two members of the group arrived just before our booked timeslot, and they sat down quickly, whilst waiting they ordered drinks. 10 minutes later, the rest of the group arrived and waited 5 minutes for a server to come, and we had to ask for the additional drinks.
Drinks were good, but the wait for them was too long.
Staff are around looking busy, but they are not attentive to customers, For example, there didn't seem to be a server assigned to specific tables. Nor did they check all was OK with the meal when it finally did come out.
Food was ordered 10 minutes after the drink came. The server was polite but uninformed about the food options for those inquiring about allergens but did seek assistance from the manager... After ordering the food, we were informed there was a long wait. Of which it was, 45 minutes. However from what we could establish, this was extended because the chef messed up the order for our allergy member and had to remake it. The manager identified this and made the chef remake all food so it was fresh, and all food came together. This made our wait 1 hour and 10 minutes long for food. (2 hour visit in total). This was the perfect approach but a quick word would have been even better, instead we had a poor excuse about the chef not getting out of bed (which we did laugh at).
Overall this was quite a nice experience, we just wish the wait had not tarnished it so ,uch. I believe the scores would have been a lot higher. We were not even offered a drink to cover our long wait time.
Additional note:
Water was served pre-poured, and the jug was half full with a fresh cucumber slice to infuse it. A lovely addition to cleanse the palate and refresh the senses.
