Heard some good things about this location. Unfortunately this was not a great experience.
After we ordered drinks, 2 arrived within 10 minutes while the others took around 20 minutes more to arrive. Our milk had bits in it so we asked for it to be replaced. They took it away and 10/15 minutes later we had to ask where our replacement milk was.
Once our food had been delivered we tried to ask the waitress for some sauce. Only to have her turn away and walk to chat to someone she appeared to know (this was not our initial waitress). The presentation of the food was very good. The black pudding was over cooked and the steak was under cooked. Requesting Medium and getting closer to rare. Also if you're serving steak please provide a steak knife.
During our meal we were checked upon by our initial waitress and we ordered 3 more drinks.
30 minutes later we had finished our meal and wanted the bill. The waitress then brought the drinks over. We refused the drinks since we had now finished our meal and were ready to leave.
What was missing here was attention and concern for the customer. The group of staff that were gathered around the coffee machine at the top of the stairs would have been much more attentive to customers' needs if they had been stationed on the shop floor. We are aware this is a fairly new restaurant to the area and I hope they succeed.
